Jon Williams (Official Site) is a Brooklyn-based artist with a background in formal computer science, film studies & Afro-Cuban percussion. His live video work explores digital-optical feedback technique and samples culled from marathon film screening sessions and the forgotten alleys of computer graphics. While utilizing both video cameras and analog video synthesis, most images are generated via real-time editing in a software patch environment. In November 2008, he orchestrated the video for Excepter's 17-hour election day telethon at Monkeytown in Brooklyn. He frequently performs with ad-hoc / semi-improvised groups, including "gauze" art-rock group Enoch A.L.N. (w/ Rebecca Gaffney); in April 2011, he performed a 37 minute piece on synthesizer in a 13 person, one parakeet ensemble.
Rebecca Gaffney is a Brooklyn-based video and installation artist/musician/writer who works with out of phase strobelight, reflections, light/vid/music improv, transcendence, happenings, epic collaborations, aerial views, and "new shit". She has performed and shown at Canada Gallery, Secret Project Robot, Louis V. E.S.P., PS1, and St Cecelia's Convent, where she also curated Spun 3{The Crest Jewel of}, a 70-artist video-light-sound installation show. She plays in "gauze" art-rock group Enoch A.L.N. (with Jon Williams) and is working on a series of novels. She has an upcoming solo show at Pendu gallery and is curating Spun 4 later this year.
